I initially bought a 600hp, 402cid. Small Block Chevy for this car, But then I started to think it might be possible to fit a BMW V12in place where the SBC belonged. I heard that this was the engine BMW used as a basis to power the Mclaren F1. The engine used in the BMW 750i & the 850i is surprisingly compact at 26 inches long and weighs about 500 lbs. with accessories. I contacted some friends that run a BMW recycling yard regarding the availability and the response was "$500.00 each, how many do you want?"
